The Freight Portal relaunched

9 Sep 2021

The Department for Transport, the Energy Saving Trust and Zemo partnership have relaunched a revamped online freight portal aimed at helping operators cut their fuel bills and reduce their carbon footprint at the same time.

The portal supports the UK Government’s Transport Decarbonisation Plan and previously the Department for Transport’s Road to Zero strategy by providing advice to freight operators and directing them towards a range of schemes to help achieve lower costs and emissions.

The Government’s Road to Zero strategy announced an industry-wide voluntary target for reducing heavy goods vehicle (HGV) greenhouse gas emissions by 15% by 2025, from 2015 levels.

The Freight Portal offers information and guidance to freight operators to help them meet this target.
